We attended our friends’ wedding on the Metolius River in eastern Oregon last summer, which has got to be one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve been. Nestled in the trees, family cabins line the spring fed, ice cold and volcanic river. Everything is so green. Sun shining through leaves and lighting up the chlorophyll — my favorite color. This cabin in particular caught my eye, and I found myself fantasizing about never leaving.
Fun fact: This painting was named by someone at a First Friday event at the Crowd Collective in North Boulder. I thought it’d be fun to crowdsource name ideas for this piece from the local community, so I invited folks to share their stream of consciousness thoughts with me.
Riversong, Birdsong was submitted anonymously, but I think it speaks well to the spirit of the painting.
