Whispers in the Haze
8 x 10”
Oil on cradled wood panel
This little painting is the first I’ve completed start to finish in my new studio space at The Crowd Collective — an accomplishment!
The scene is from the Diamond Lake trail in Nederland, one of my favorites in the area. When my husband and I hiked this last summer, a thin layer of wildfire smoke was hanging in the air. Not enough to make it hard to breathe, but it was perceptible. It gave the landscape this peachy glow, which despite its insidious origin, was beautiful in a way.
