Pacifica, California holds a very special place in my heart. I lived in Sharp Park for two and a half years during the pandemic, and got to know it incredibly well. One of my favorite things to do is wander and explore my local surroundings on foot, figuring out how trails connect and forming a mental map of my favorite places and how they relate.
On days when I was feeling ambitious, I would walk from home to Mori Point, and then all the way to Linda Mar. Rockaway Beach is a midpoint on that journey, and holds the most dramatically beautiful views of all the town’s beaches (in my opinion). Oh, and I may or may not have painted this as a bribe for my friends to move to Pacifica.
Check out the trail that inspired this painting.
