This painting captures a quiet winter night in the mountains in Aspen, Colorado near the Snowmass ski resort. However, the story behind this painting is a little non-traditional. My friend gave me this canvas board with a different painting on it and asked me to give it a new life. I kept some of the underlying themes and color palette, but painted an entirely new scene on top. I did keep a section of the original moon though, and that guided me throughout the process.

Creating this piece was a fun way to challenge my creative thinking. I enjoy the process of repurposing things, finding the magic in something old and bringing it back to life.
