Emerald Spring is one of Yellowstone’s hidden gems. The vibrant colors, resulting from mineral deposits and reflected light, are so vivid it almost feels otherworldly — deep greens, bright blues, and wisps of rising steam kissing the air. Standing at the edge of the spring, you can feel the raw energy of the earth just beneath your feet.

We stumbled upon Emerald Spring at the end of our sunset hike around the Norris Geyser Basin, and I was mesmerized by its beauty. Its green color is the result of yellow sulfur deposits combining with the reflected blue light in the pool.
